We recently spent a couple of weeks in the States visiting the american side of our family. We had a great time! We managed a couple of days of boarding (Mandi decided to make the most of her time on the snow used the skis she bought just before we left last time), both were really good. As we made our way to the resort it was overcast and seemed like a rubbish weather day, but as we went up we went throught the clouds and got to spend the day above them in the sun. It was great. We went to Silver mountain for a day for a change, it's good. We got to spend some time with Brandon, Jakey and Doug, which was awesome.

The Linger Longer is still the same, I don't think it will ever change. I saw a 'Big Back In' T-Shirt on the wall in there. I managed to get a couple from Kurt, he also gave us a DVD he'd made with a whole load of footage from the last event (quite a bit of himself winning!), and a couple of really cool 'Big Back In' tankards one of which I use every day at work. Thanks Kurt. =)

We visited a lot of family members, which was cool. It's a shame we can't get over there a bit more often, or for longer.

Rod got us a fantastic present. It's a lyre harp he had made specially for us by a buddy of his called Bud. Bud is a great guy who has a fantastic wood working studio (massive shed) with loads of cool tools and equipment. I didn't have time to have a go, but next time we're over there we're going to make some wooden bowls. I've invested in a proper tuning device and the lyre sounds really good now. I even got some tips from a local music shop, I know how to do chords now. =) I'll put a picture in when I add the pictures from the trip. I'm waiting for some from Lisa as I used her new camera for some of then trip.

At the end of our stay Rod's cousin Tom took us all up Hell's Canyon in his amazing jet boat. It's worth $80k,and has an 8 litre engine that produces 426bhp!! Apparently it's goods for over 100mph!! =0   It was an amazing trip, it's beautiful up there....it's also very cold at the begining of February, thankfully the boat has heating for the cabin. Thanks Rod and Tom for that trip.

We got to stay on Brandon's house boat our last night. It's very cool, but a bit small for guests to stay over. It would be great in the summer to go out for a spot of fishing. =)
